A ship’s pilot from Antwerp told me this …
We’re currently tied alongside the harbour wall in a little town called Vannes, in Brittany, France. I was on deck checking the mooring lines prior to the arrival of a storm when a guy and his wife stopped and asked about our boat name, Songa. He then told me that he was a ship’s pilot, working out of Antwerp, Belgium, and that on the approach to Antwerp one of the main channel markers is called Songa. This marker sits over the top of a shipwreck some 20m below. The wrecked ship was called Songa.
I haven’t been able to find anything about the shipwreck, but I found the channel marker on my charts.
Just make sure you do not have the same fate. Small world .
